HISTORY of 6.5X55mm Swedish Mauser: The Swedish Mauser does not share the basic case when compare to other Mauserwerke’s military cartridges because the head diameter is .015 inches larger and has a thicker rim.  Adopted into Swedish service in 1894 used in Models 94,96 and 38 all based on modified 1893 Spanish Mauser.  Norway also used the 6.5mm in the 1894 and 1912 Krag-Jorgensen rifles.
