HISTORY:  Combined expertise of Winchester ammunition and Smith & Wesson firearms with a goal of producing a new caliber (and firearm to shoot it) that was similar in length but more powerful to the 9mm, and still easy to shoot.  The final result was a 40 S&W that was fired in a Model 4006, basically a 9mm pistol modified to handle a .400 diameter bullet.   Current 40 caliber/10mm bullets for sale at Duck Creek click here.
