Notes:  Winchester designed a “woods” cartridge that would fire a 200 grain bullet at a similar velocity a 300 savage can propel a 150 grain round.  Based on the 308 Winchester, the  358 Winchester was introduced in 1955 for use in lever Model 88 and inn the Model 70 bolt-action rifle.  Currently the popularity of the AR platform has given the 358 Winchester a second look for the shooter wanting a heavy hitting cartridge.
