History:  The 303 SAVAGE is a .30-caliber cartridge using .308 diameter bullets generally from 150 to 190-grains.  In 1895 the initial idea was to be potentially a military round, that did not come to be so Savage introduced in their Model 1899 rifle and was produced up to WWII.  In England it was referred to as 301 SAVAGE.
