Description
7mm EXPRESS-280 REMINGTON brass cases for sale.
Box of 50 factory new HORNADY unprimed 280 REMINGTON, also known as the 7mm REMINGTON EXPRESS (actual case not used in product image)
HISTORY: Introduced in 1957 in the Model 740 Autoloader, then later on Model 700’s was chambered in the 280 Remington. Created slightly longer than the 270 Win. to prevent accidental chambering in the wrong caliber. Just like the 270, this round is based on the 30-06 case but this great game cartridge did not happen until 32 years has passed giving the 270 Winchester a good head start in popularity. The 280 does have greater loading potential due to the wider bullet selections available.
Remington changed the name to 7mm Express in the 1980’s to reflect the use of newer powders and greater velocities achieved. A few years later the name was changed back to 280 Remington, thus creating confusion with the buying public. Info gained from retired Hornady employee Todd Georgi.
