Factory new Hornady unprimed 270 Winchester Short Magnum  (270 WSM) brass shell cases.  Actual case not used in pic. Hornady #8637

Notes:  .277-diameter bullets is a Winchester original, with three other commercially offered .270-caliber calibers, one being a Weatherby.   Unlike the Weatherby Magnum , the WSM lineup is developed in lightweight rifles.  The 270 WSM usually has a preference for slower burning powders to achieve velocities just shy of what a Weatherby will do.  Powders to consider are 4350’s, 4831’s and other class of powders that share similar burn rate, click here to view a burn rate chart.
