BULK BRASS: Odd numbers of cartridge cases result from bulk bagging.  Bulk brass is sold in barrels, generally by weight and it is not uncommon for an odd number of pieces to remain.

HISTORY: Evolved from the 308 Winchester with credit going to Warren Page with his experiments wildcatting the 308 in the 1950’s. Warren’s pet name for the 24 caliber was the “Super Pooper”, when standardized by Winchester a better name was selected, the 243 Winchester. In order to stabilize heavier bullets 1:10 rifling twist was used by Winchester and producing minimal recoil propelled the 243’s popularity with hunters and reloader’s alike.
